Pangkarra Foods received the Foodland SA New Product Awardat the 2016 South Australian Food Industry Awardson Friday 25 November 2016.

Pangkarra Foods received this award for the new pulse product range, which includes Pangkarra Chickpeas (cooked), Pangkarra

Roasted Chickpeas with Garlic and Sea Salt, Pangkarra Roasted Bean Mix with Lemon, Thyme, Black Pepper and Sea Salt, and Pangkarra Roasted Chickpeas and Faba Beans with Rosemary and Sea Salt.

More than 700 people attended the evening, and a record number of entries were received for the 2016 Program.

The 2016 South Australian Food Industry Awards Program recognises and celebrates individuals and businesses that are making their mark in the food industry by demonstrating their outstanding vision, leadership and innovation.


Katherine Maitland, Manager for Pangkarra Foods, said the award recognises the best in the state. "We were thrilled to receive this awardfor the Pangkarra pulses," she said. "As this year is the International Year of the Pulse, and pulses are starting to gain momentum, the timing is perfect."

"The Pangkarra pulses have been an 18 month project from the research and development phase to shelf ready. 

"Since we launched the range at the beginning of 2016, we have received invaluable feedback from industry experts, renowned chefs and customers. We arevery proud of the products," she said.
